There are certain beliefs that are necessary for salvation and eternal life. It is important to know that these a necessary and that everything else is personal preference in worship style.
The Great Gift
The first is you need to know and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that all who believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)
The Great Sacrifice
In addition You need to know about Christ’s Atoning Death and Resurrection (Romans 10:9 2 Timothy 2:8 1 Corinthians 15:14-17 Hebrews 11:6)
For further evidence on his Resurrection look at these verses (1 Corinthians 15:1-3 John 6:47)
Additional Fundamental beliefs
- God as the Trinity-One God Three Persons. (Deuteronomy 6:4 Ephesians 4:4-6) Father (Galatians 1:1 Ephesians 1:2) Son (Hebrews 1:8 John 20:28) Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4 2 Corinthians 3:17-18)
- The Bible was written by God through the inspiration of men (2 Timothy 3:16 2 Peter 1:21)
- The Virgin Birth and Incarnation (these fulfil prophecy identifying Jesus as the Messiah) (Matthew 1:18-23 John 1:14)
- Sin (all have sinned and the consequence is death) (Romans 3:23 Romans 6:23)
- Heaven and Eternal Life (the destination for those who reject sin and choose Jesus to lead their life) (John 6:47 John 14:1-4)
- Hell and Eternal Judgment (the destination for those who reject Jesus and choose sin) (Daniel 12:2 Matthew 25:41-46)
- Creation (all the universe was created by God) (Genesis 1:1-3 Colossians 1:16)
- Second Coming (Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead) (Acts 1:9-11 Revelation 1:7)
Similar core beliefs were summarized in the past in the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the one from the The Anglican Church in North America
