Been Thinking About Contentment

For most of my life, I have thanked the Lord for a great sense of contentment that I have. You should have contentment for your situation, but as the serenity prayer says, we need to have the courage to change the things that need to be changed.

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:31-33

Why Would A Good God Allow Suffering?

God allows pain and suffering in our world to alert us to the problem of sin, to direct us to respond to Him in faith and hope, to shape us to be more like Christ, and to unite us so that we will help each other. For a good daily devotional that addresses issues like these, visit Our Daily Bread

Contentment comes from focusing on Jesus, not what is happening
